There is truly an amazing number of attractions in Victoria. There is a
huge range of activities to suit children and adults alike, no matter what
age.

Bendigo is a large regional city in part of the Goldfields country
Australian Sheep and Wool show is held annually in July. It's the largest
show of it's type in the world. Many breeds of sheep, alpacas and goats from
all overr Australia are on show during the 3 days. 2500 livestock are expected
to be present. Spinning, woolcraft, weaving and felting, fashion displays
and wool harvesting can be seen. Go to

The National Alpacas Show and Sale is held at the Bendigo Exhibition Centre
from 14 - 16th October 2005.
The Bendigo Agricultural Show is held on 21-22 October 2005.

A
truly great place to visit. There is so much to do here, you will need at
least a week to appreciate what the Spa country has to offer. The number of
massage and therapy businesses is amazing. Walks, scenic drives, historic
buildings, spas and museums are just a few of the things to do.
There are walks for all fitness levels. Daylesford is situated in mountainous terrain and many walks are strenuous. The picturesque walking track around Lake Daylesford will be suitable for most visitors.

The
Convent is a "must see" when in this area. With seven individual
galleries, it is an amazing building.
Enjoy a meal, inspect the beautiful traditional and contemporary art, glassware, pottery, sculptures and history while inside this huge historic building.

The
Wombat Hill Botanical Gardens has an impressive view over
the town. If stairs are not a problem (77 in total), the Lookout Tower in
the gardens is definitely worth the effort. The Fern garden is a superb spot
on a hot summer's day.
The Blow Hole is a short drive from Daylesford and gives you the option of many walks of various duration. Breakneck Gorge is a 60 minute walk, but there are shorter walks.
Jubilee Lake has a large grassed area for a family picnic, with playground, walking tracks and Caravan Park. A short walk gets you to the Soda Spring to taste Spring water that this region is famous for.
A 15 minute drive takes you to Hepburn Springs, where visitors can sample mineral water from the many points around the area. The Hepburn Spa Resort offers visitors complete Hydrotherapy with Aerospa Baths, Homeopathic Baths, or enjoy the pool, spa couches or salt pool.

For
a totally different experience, climb aboard the Silver Streak train enjoying
champagne, wine and nibbles while this historic train travels to Bullarto
and returns 90 minutes later.
Other historic trains run every Sunday, however the Silver Streak operates on the first Saturday of the month. The Daylesford Market is held every Sunday at the Raliway station.

Formula One Grand Prix
Formula 1 GP is a great event for petrol heads and other sports viewers who like high speed action, burning rubber, and the noise of high horsepower producing engines. The skills of the drivers needs to be seen to be appreciated.
The next Fosters Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix race to be held in Melbourne on 30 March - 2 April 2006. This is the 11th Melbourne F1 Grand Prix.
Mark Webber in his Williams BMW should be a real contender for a podium finish in front of his home crowd.
Over the 4 days the crowds get plenty of action, from Karts, the famous Celebrity
Challenge, V8 Supercars and of course the F1 racecars.
Motorcycles
The 2005 Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix is held at Phillip Island on the
14 - 16 October 2005.
The track was officially opened in 1956 and has had various races held at
the circuit over the years. At one stage the track fell into disrepair, but
was later upgraded and acknowledged as suitable for hosting World events.
After hosting and later loosing Grand Prix racing, the 4.45 kilometre circuit
has been home of the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix since 1997.

Train rides - Puffing Billy
Take a scenic journey through fern covered forest while travelling on one of the few steam trains still operating. Why not catch the train from Flinders street station to Belgrave, then climb aboard this historic train ride.
Puffing Billy Railway was opened in December 1900 to take travellers from
Upper Ferntree gully to Gembrook. It closed in 1953 due to a landslide.
Volunteers of Puffiny Billy preservation society rebuilt and reopened the
line.
One of worlds finest restored Steam trains.
A night train runs with evening dinner available.
Travels through magnificent gully's of ferns and forests. Stops enroute at
Historic Menzies Creek station. Caters for disabled.

Visit the world's largest amateur restoration project. A group of retired
RAAF men and other enthusiasts are painstakenly restoring a B-24 Liberator
Bomber. The Hangar is open to the public on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

Falls Creek

Ruined Castle, above Falls Creek, contains huge columns of basalt that was

The Cathedral, Buffalo Gorge and many other rock features offer great sightseeing at Mt Buffalo. The granite cliffs were formed when molten magma flowed and solidified deep below the surface. The erosion of sedimentary rock oveer many centuries exposed the granite underneath.
Phillip Island - Victoria
Phillip Island is a short hour and half drive South from Melbourne's CBD.
It's the location to see the world's smallest Penguins. At dusk Fairy
Penguins come in from a day at sea, returning to their burrows
in the sand dunes. The Penguin Parade is a wonderful sight
as groups of Penguins head up the beach each night.
Take a stroll on the Boardwalk and see Koalas up close in their natural enviroment. Plenty of birds and wildlife on this walk.
